Every child has the right to education. Don't you agree?
Well, FILA and Athletes in Action (AIA) definitely do. And, as such, they have both joined forces to bring together the biggest advocacy run to help raise funds for the rehabilitation of classrooms in Iligan City. In case you didn't know, they were hit badly by Typhoon Sendong last year. :(
Last June 20, I was invited by Leung de Leon Marketing Services to attend the press launch. Thank you so much for having me!
The press launch took place at the FILA store on the 2nd floor of Robinson's Galleria. And, since I didn't know who else would be there, I invited these pretty girls to be my dates:

(left) Kat Valdez; (right) Wonder Woman - ME! :)
Before entering the store, we were each given a gift certificate that we could use to get one pair of FILA shoes of our choice. (Thank you, FILA!) Here are some of the ones that caught my eye at the Robinson's branch:
There's something about the color red that always catches my eye.
I absolutely fell in love with this pair, though.
Might get it with my GC later today! :)
FILA's latest line: the Skele-Toes.
Watch out for my next blog post to find out more about these shoes! :)
Cool presentation in FILA shoes!
And then the launch began:
Titled "Schools Run for School Rooms (SRSR)", this run will be participated in by student runners from major universities in Manila, government agency groups, churches, private corporations and running enthusiasts.
Jose Andes, the National Director of AIA, pointed out that the Philippines has always been lacking in classrooms. Well, thanks to the help of their partners, they will now be able to build more classrooms in Iligan City and help alleviate this problem a little bit.
AIA is also partnering with the iCare Foundation and GMA Kapuso Foundation for this project, the latter of which will facilitate in rehabilitating the classrooms.
SRSR will be held at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. Participants will assemble at 4am as gun start is at 5am.
Tens of thousands of runners have already signed up for SRSR, so why not become one of them and help out this great cause? Tickets and registration forms are available at SM Ticketnet outlets.
