Lookbook.nu Look: I Miss You.

A couple of months ago, Megann got sick and I didn't see her for weeks... which, to clingy-me, already felt like centuries. So, the minute she started to feel better, we scheduled a Southern date to catch up over lunch at Wee Nam Kee. It was my first time there and I loved it immediately. Read Megann's post on our lunch date here. :)

We ate at Wee Nam Kee's Alabang Town Center branch...

... where Megann introduced me to this delicious yet sinful prawn dish.

My LOLZBALLS and favorite Southern date, Megann. :)

Since we had a lot to catch up on (that's an understatement, really), we also ended up having coffee afterwards. This also happened to be the day I first told Megann about Gerd. XD HAHAHA. Yup. Secret's out! :p

Anyway, here's what I wore on our lunch date:

black bag from Prada
black boots from CeCe
red mullet skirt from Sarah Tirona

black studded ring from CeCe Accessoriz
black jacket from Folded and Hung
sheer leopard top from J'Adore La Mode Shop

studded collar necklace from Bangkok
(FOR SALE! Leave a comment if you want it!)

studded tiger bracelet from House of Luxe

Thank you for taking my outfit shots, Megann! :)

Going through these old photos and seeing Megann tonight after what once again felt like centuries made me realize how much I tend to miss certain people and certain things about them, like their laugh, their smile, or how their eyes would glisten whenever they were happy.

Most of the time, though, I tend to miss talking to certain people and spending hours on end just talking about nothing. I miss talking about things that aren't even important, and how the talk ends up being amazing in my head anyway because of who I was talking to. I wonder if people ever randomly miss me, too. Hmm.

Who do you guys miss right now and what do you miss about them? Let's be emo together! :)

Lookbook.nu Look: Just Do It.

As mentioned in my blog post about the latest ASUS Transformer Pad launch, my best friend Jacob and I were coincidentally wearing the same bright shade of blue that day. What were the chances? :)

And, since I know a lot of you miss him and want to see his pretty face, here are some photos for you to enjoy before we get to my own outfit shots:

Jake and his signature smile that has been breaking hearts since God-knows-when.

You likey? Haha.

And, just in case you were wondering: he can also not-smile. :p

Anyway, before I get to my own outfit shots, I just want to take a moment to be emo and talk about one of the things that I love the most about Jacob.

Looks aside, Jacob is one of those people who doesn't just sit around talking about what he wants to do. He actually goes out there and does something about it.

You know how we tend to sit around and imagine the future in a similar way that we reminisce the past? Well, guess what? No matter how much we imagine escaping the lives that we are living today, it simply won't be enough. We gotta go out there and do something about it. And that's what I love the most about Jacob: he isn't scared to go out there, do something about it and follow his dreams.

*cue the awws*

Okay, okay. Outfit shot time (thank you, Jacky, for patiently taking my photos!):

black bootie heels from Nine West
black ruffled pants from *wait for it* ...Penshoppe

bright blue sheer top from Forever 21
black leather choker from House of Luxe

silver bolt bracelet from Hardwear
silver claw ring from House of Luxe
black studded cuff from House of Luxe
bronze statement necklace from House of Luxe

animal print sunglasses from Hang Ten

I've decided I need more black pants in my life. Any suggestions on where I can get some good ones? :)

Hands Up! Who Wants an ASUS Transformer Pad?

*raises hand* I do! I do!

Why? Well, a couple of months ago, the ASUS team invited me to the launch of their expanded Transformer Pad range at 360 Bar in A-Venue, Makati. And, I'm telling you: it was love at first sight.

There are two: the ASUS Transformer Pad 300 Series and the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity Series - both of which provide a whole new take on the realm of tablets.

 How beautiful is this profile?

Basically, the new ASUS tablet range takes an innovative 2-in-1 approach that brings a netbook and a tablet together into a single product through a keyboard dock.

Talk about convenience!

The best part is that they don't just look good; they are actually very affordable, too! I can't wait to get one myself! I just need to decide what color I want it in. :p #mysuperheroproblems

Anyway, I asked a few of my blogger friends to join me at the launch, too, and - trust me when I say this wasn't planned - my best friend Jacob showed up wearing the exact same color as me outfit-wise! :p

Sorry for the crappy pic.
Will post our (clear) outfit shots in my next blog post! :)

I also invited Jacky and April! :)

Bloggers in blogger mode.

My When in Manila editor, Vince Golangco, hosted the event!

How GORGEOUS is that pad in red?!?? GAHHH!!!

Yes, as true masters of innovation, ASUS had a fashion show to launch their new Transformer Pad range.

THE David Guison was also there to talk about how the ASUS pads are the perfect accessories for bloggers who are always on the go. He made me want one even more than I already do. Such an awesome gadget!

Wanna hear something even awesome-r? You can win an ASUS Transformer Pad 300T Tablet in royal blue on David's blog. Read the complete mechanics hereIf you don't plan on joining, please do like my good friend Hezron Peralta's entry for the contest here! :)

Sorry for all of the shameless plugs. Haha!

Towards the end of the event, the ASUS team raffled off one of the pads and I swear we were all at the edge of our seats, ready to kill hoping to win!!!

Moment of truth.

...We didn't win. Lol.
This lucky guy did.

Ahhh. Guess that means I'm gonna just have to buy one of my own. Just waiting for my mind to decide which color it wants. Haha.

Want to find out more about the latest ASUS Transformer Pads and get more updates on ASUS products, in general? Then like ASUS on Facebook and follow them on Twitter today! :) Don't forget to join David's giveaway, either!

Nivea for Men: Like a Pogi (GIVEAWAY ALERT!!!)

If you are active on Twitter in the Philippines, then you must have seen the hashtag #likeapogi going around for a while now. In a general sense, being #likeapogi is relative.

As mentioned in my DVD review of "21 Jump Street", for example, I don't easily fall for looks. For me, #likeapogi refers to a guy (preferably a geek) who is funny, confident, passionate, loyal and real. Of course, being good-looking is always a plus, but when it comes down to it, having the right attitude is so much more important in  being #likeapogi.

Have you seen Ramon Bautista's epic #likeapogi video yet? Check it out right here:

Ramon Bautista isn't just an online action star. He is multi-talented - dabbling in comedy, radio DJ-ing, writing, film-making and production, to name a few things - and proves that confidence and character truly makes the man.

Well, Nivea for Men has recently partnered with Ramon Bautista to advocate the #NIVEAlikeapogi movement to show men and women that having the right attitude and good looks go hand-in-hand in becoming #likeapogi.

Nivea for Men now has improved Oil Control and Whitening products with enhanced effects that can help any man become #NIVEAlikeapogi:

(left) Nivea for Men Extra Whitening Facial Foam
(right) Nivea for Men Whitening Cleanser and Scrub
(left) Nivea for Men Extra Whitening Moisturizer
(right) Nivea for Men Oil Control Moisture Gel

(left) Nivea for Men Oil Control Cooling Volcanic Mud Foam
(right) Nivea for Men Oil Control Face Wash

In line with these products, Nivea for Men has also launched a #NIVEAlikeapogi Facebook contest, where you can win more than Php100,000 worth of prizes and even get to appear in a video with Ramon Bautista himself!

For complete mechanics on this Facebook contest, click here.

You can also join my easy peasy blog giveaway and win a Nivea for Men gift pack! Here's how to join:

1. Follow my blog on GFC. (mandatory)

2. Follow @the_lil_miss and @NIVEAFORMENPH on Twitter. (+2 entries)

4. Add @lilmisswonderwoman and @NIVEAFORMENPH on Instagram. (+2 entries)

5. Tweet what makes you, your boyfriend or your dream guy #NIVEAlikeapogi. Don't forget the hashtag and make sure you tag @the_lil_miss and @NIVEAFORMENPH while you're at it! (+5)

Also, don't forget to leave a comment on this blog post with your GFC name, Twitter name, Facebook name, Instagram name and the link of your #NIVEAlikeapogi tweet!

Contest runs until November 2, 2012! Good luck! :)

DVD Review: 21 Jump Street by Magnavision

I went to two high schools. In my first high school, I was your typical nerd. I joined math competitions and spelling bees, and the popular girls bullied me to death - verbally, emotionally and physically.

So, when I moved to Bangkok, I turned my life around and became one of the popular girls. In fact, I was the Queen Bee. Not everybody is as lucky enough to do what I did, though, so: if you could go back to high school, what would you do differently?

This is one of the premises that "21 Jump Street" touches on - the movie re-boot of the 1980's television series starring Johnny Depp (who, of course, makes a cameo in this movie). This time around, the movie stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. And it is - hands down! - one of the most hilarious comedies I have seen in a while.

Now, you might think I'm biased because there's a hottie like Channing Tatum in the movie. But, if you read my "Magic Mike" movie review or my "The Vow" DVD review, you will know that I never cared about Channing before I saw "21 Jump Street".

This movie is to Channing Tatum what "What's Your Number" is to Chris Evans: the movie that will make girls-who-prefer-personality-over-looks fall for him. It definitely worked for me! :p

Channing Tatum aside, other things that I love about this movie include the following:

1. The rest of the cast.

Who doesn't love Jonah Hill, Dave Franco or Ice Cube? I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually believe that Dave Franco might be a much better actor compared to his brother (my on-again, off-again lover) James Franco.

2. The accurate portrayal of what was cool before and what is cool now.

Can I just say: "my, how the times have changed"? I'm not saying it's bad, though. I think I would have preferred being cyber-bullied back in high school compared to the way that I was actually bullied, for example, but back in my day (I sound so old!), sweaty basketball players were hot and clean-cut singers were not.

Fun fact: Jonah Hill actually bleached his hair blonde back in the day because he loved Eminem that much. :p

3. It actually works.

I would normally be the first one to say that reboots are stupid ideas. Fortunately, I was too young to be a huge fan of "21 Jump Street" when it was showing on TV, so I didn't have anything to compare this to. Therefore: I liked it. A lot.

I have been told that I have a weird sense of humor, though, so I'm not sure if everyone else will like it. However, you can trust me when I say there is never a dull moment in this movie and there is nothing corny or cheesy about the jokes in it. No toilet humor, either!

Also, let's face it: the special features of most DVDs aren't really worth it, but I enjoyed the special features of "21 Jump Street" immensely. The deleted scenes were HILARIOUS and the behind-the-scenes footage of the movie was great, too.

However, I understand why the scenes had to be deleted, given that the movie is already around 110 minutes long without them.

All photos courtesy of Magnavision.

Overall, "21 Jump Street" is a real breath of fresh air in the smoky cloud of lame comedies and action films nowadays. Aside from touching on the aforementioned premise of "What if things were different for us in high school?", it also manages to hit on stereotypes, spoof action films and remind us what true friendship is supposed to be all about. Definitely a must-buy!

Make sure you get a copy of it at your nearest Astroplus or Odyssey branch. Massive thanks to Magnavision for mine! :)

Have you seen "21 Jump Street"? What did you think of it? I'd love to know! And tell me your high school stories while you're at it! :) Don't forget to like Magnavision on Facebook and follow them on Twitter btw! :)

McCormick Bread Spread: The Perfect Solution for Cooks and Non-Cooks Alike

If I were ever to get married, I'd be the worst wife in the world. I hate cleaning. I have crappy priorities when it comes to grocery-shopping. I have even crappier priorities when it comes to interior design. I can't drive. And I can't cook.

Fortunately, I'm not a wife yet, so I get by with take-out food, food delivery hotlines and food preparations that don't require any form of cooking at all. Sadly, there are only so many ways you can make ham and cheese sandwiches and the like. That's why I was so happy when I heard of McCormick Bread Spreads and attended their launch.

McCormick bread spreads come in three different flavors:

For the garlic lovers, there is the garlic bread spread.
Blame the (Anne Rice, not Twilight) vampire in me, but I'm not a big fan of garlic, unfortunately.

For the cheese lovers, there is the herb parmesan bread spread.
I absolutely loved this one coz I'm a sucker for cheese!

And for the more adventurous peeps, there is the pesto bread spread.
Surprisingly enough, this one was my favorite amongst the bunch!

If you can't cook like me, then your taste buds are sure to enjoy these bread spreads on bread or crackers, as chip dips, or even mixed with different kinds of meats and other spreads. You can put them on salads, too!

Confession: I sometimes enjoy these spreads so much that I eat them on their own. ...I squeeze them into my mouth like whipped cream. I'm weird. I know.

Our taste platter.

Since McCormick bread spreads don't have any trans fats and come in no-mess squeezable tubes, you can also bring them with you wherever you want: to the office, to picnics, or in your kids' lunch boxes.

Of course, if you aren't a loser like me and can actually cook, you can do as Stephanie Zubiri does and use the bread spreads in your favorite food dishes, too:

Just check out what she did with her pasta:

She used the garlic bread spread to make this.

What was so cool about the launch was that the buffet consisted of food, in which the bread spreads were used:

Pesto Orange Balsamic Salad, Garlic Herb Lemon Zest Carbonara and Grilled Stuffed Chicken Breast with Roasted Veggie Millefeuille

Made me wish I could cook myself... :(

They also had a cooking challenge for the guests, wherein they had to use the bread spreads in three different dishes!

And the challenge begins:

Their finished products:

From G's team.

From Myke's team.

Myke's team won!

After that, they had another game, where guests had to taste various sandwiches and guess which bread spread was used on each of them.

Looked like it was harder than it seemed!

Look who else I ran into at the event! A blast from the past: Yshy Igdanes of Something Yshy :D So good to see you!

Without a doubt, McCormick bread spreads are now a regular part of my kitchen cabinet arsenal. Make it a part of yours, too. Just look for McCormick bread spreads at your neighborhood supermarkets! :)
