It is quite rare for me to go crazy over a TV show. But, man, when I do go crazy over a TV show, I go absolutely ape-shit-obsessive-bat-crazy-freakazoid on it. Such is the case with Mad Men.
So, it goes without saying that, when I heard about the latest Banana Republic x Mad Men collection, I freaked. And that is putting it very, very, very mildly. Here's what I wore to the event:
dress from Tiendesitas
The stated attire for the Banana Republic event was "Mod" and I panicked a lil bit coz - if you've been following my blog, you should know this - I don't have anything even remotely close to "mod" in my closet.
I actually almost gave up on the whole mod business altogether until I stumbled upon this dress that I bought in Tiendesitas when we moved here - back when I didn't even know what Tiendesitas was. And, well, since Twiggy was very mod, I thought wearing her on my dress would be mod enough. Haha. Lame reasoning, I know.
I wasn't actually going to take photos of this outfit, to be honest. However, everyone seemed to love it so much, I gave in to peer pressure in the end.
earrings from Bangkok
Since I still felt like I wasn't mod enough, I ended up putting on these earrings with an interesting pattern to mod it up a bit more. I guess they did the trick because everyone at the event pointed out that I was dressed for it. Woot! :)
black boots from CeCe
My trusty black boots were definitely the highlight of this outfit, though. We passed by a group of complete strangers while walking down Bonifacio High Street that day and they actually did a double-take to tell me that they loved my boots. It was one of those hey-let's-boost-your-confidence-a-bit days - that's for sure! :)
So, what do you think? Did I at least semi-pull off a mod look here? Haha.
those booties are tdf! <3
