Childhood Contamination.

When it comes to my daughter, I don't try to interfere with her childhood too much. If she wants to watch Nickelodeon instead of Disney Junior every once in a while, I let her. If she wants to sleep past 10pm, I let her. If I'm sitting with my friends at dinner, talking about "grown-up stuff", I don't bother to cover her ears.

Kids will get "contaminated" sooner or later anyway, and the more I try to hide her from the real world, the more she'll want to get exposed to it. (Trust me. I learned this from... well... my child self. Lol.)

Anyway, here's what I wore to the Eastpak Artist Studio event a couple of weeks ago when I channeled my inner child:

crocheted vest from Forever 21
Adventure Time "Jake" shirt from SM Department Store

Just another addition to my growing collection of Adventure Time memorabilia :) Got this shirt at the Adventure Time event a few weeks back! :D Awesomesauce!

colorful pixel backpack from Outdoor Products

Speaking of awesomesauce, check out this pixel backpack that I got from Outdoor Products. The minute they handed me the bag, my heart did cartwheels out of joy. It is so me. Will write a proper review on it very soon! Watch out for that! :)

Yup, I've learned not to sweat the small stuff when it comes to Syrena. I'm actually starting to see the bright side to parenting her on my own: I get to raise her in the way that only I want to, without looking like the "bad cop" all the time.

Also, I can finally breathe with ease, knowing that she'll grow up to be a much braver, much stronger and much more independent child than I was. (For more on my wussy childhood, click here.)

Besides, I grew up watching Disney movies. Need I remind you that Cinderella broke her curfew, Snow White lived with 7 men, Shaggy was always high, Popeye smoked a pipe and had a ton of tattoos, and Pac Man ran around eating pills? Yeah. Exactly. :p

A lot of people judge me and the way that I raise my daughter. But hey, to each her own, yeah? Peace, love and light. Namaste. :)
