"I worry because I care."

Through the years and the changes of scenes and friends and interests, however, we slowly grew apart; only seeing each other once in a blue moon to catch up, forget our troubles and just laugh like old times. The great thing about Jacob and I, though, is that it doesn't matter how long of a time we don't see each other; whenever we do, we go back to our old ways of just being us.

It isn't until tonight that I really realised how much of a gentleman Jacob has always been throughout our friendship and how much I had taken that for granted back in the day.

Most of my friends are guys - that's pretty common knowledge. However, most of these guys are also so comfortable around me that they have started treating me like a guy, as well. I get bossed around. I get asked to foot the bill. I get dropped off somewhere to commute from there. And no one actually really asks me much about my life. So, catching up with Jacob tonight was such a refreshing change.

For starters, Jacob actually made me feel like he wanted to see me. A lot of the time, I drop by somewhere and I see my friends and it's like, you know, I'm just... there. It's a common occurrence. Nothing special. With Jake, though, I felt like I mattered, if that makes sense. Which was nice, considering it hasn't been that long since I last saw him.

It was also nice to give someone big bear hugs without them freaking out, getting weirded out or think I like them in another way.

Aside from that, it was also nice to hear someone ask about my life and how I was, in general. It's such a lil thing, such a simple question, but not a lot of people do that anymore nowadays. Think about it. When was the last time you asked someone how they were while genuinely caring about their answer?

And then there was the whole "where can I drop you off to make things more convenient for you?" question. Which was also nice, considering I usually just get dropped off along Edsa to commute from there, if I even get an offer to get dropped off at all. There was even some genuine concern on how I would get to my shuttle and whether I needed cab money to get home. "I'm a big girl," I said. To which he replied: "I know. But I worry because I care." <3

I don't know. It was just nice. This probably explains why I get so easily attached to guys who treat me like a lady, buy me dinner or ice cream, open car doors for me, pick me up from home, bring me home and give me lil gifts. ;)
