Wasted Summer

Is it me or has 2014 gone by far too quickly? We're only 2 weeks away from the -ber months, and I feel lil all I did this 2014 was waste my life away. What happened to all of my big New Year's resolutions? Why has my friendship circle changed so drastically? What happened to my summer? Where's my BAE? :))

But seriously… I had big plans this year. Plans of losing weight, getting out of debt, strengthening friendships, having an epic summer and falling in love. Okay, so I fell in love… but aside from that, everything's just been so chaotic.

For starters, I missed having an epic summer altogether coz I was focusing so much on work at the time and my 2 free trips to Bora ended up turning into 0 free trips to Bora. *slow clap* I even got this epic shirt from Borabound to wear there, but now, alas, 'tis all but a dream.

Not that I'm complaining. Work has been beyond amazing and I have never been so content and satisfied with my life. :)

Things have been a bit fucked up friendship-wise, though. I feel like I wasted my entire summer with a person who was just pretending to be my friend. It's pretty sad.

Basically, that "friend" went through a bad breakup and cried to me for nights on end, sometimes even showing up unannounced just to cry and I was there for her every step of the way for 2 months or more. After the summer, her ex came running back for sex and BOOM. They got back together and we just stopped being friends. Just like that. Talk about ungratefulness.

The sad part is that some of my other friends were already warning me that I was being used and taken advantage of, but I never listened. Sigh. So, guys, if one of your best friends tells you someone is trouble, you listen. Hahaha. That's the moral of this story. The end.

Dolls at Toys 'R' Us

Since I am the mom of a 4-year-old daughter, this really shouldn't come as a surprise. Although I will never understand my daughter's fascination with 'weird' dolls like Bratzillas and Moxie Girlz, who am I to deprive her of what she wants when they're at 50% off? What a steal!

Having a daughter didn't stop me from going through the boys' section to feed my geeky heart, either. While I didn't buy anything here, I still jumped in excitement when I saw Transformers figures on sale:

And check out this uber cool Iron Man mask! The geekery was almost too much for me to handle!!!

Skin Care Items at The Body Shop

For my mom - the skin care and beauty addict - I visited The Body Shop. Best. Decision. Ever. Why? Coz most of their items are at Buy 1 Get 1 Free, which means that I ended up getting something for myself for every item that I got my mom. Score!

This body butter that I used to swear by is available at 40% off, as well. I have to say: The Body Shop is the shop that I had the hardest time tearing myself away from. I actually found myself thinking back into the recesses of my bathroom cabinet to figure out if I would need to restock anything within the next 12 months. Might as well do it now while everything's a steal, right? :p

Clothes at G2000

For myself and my favorite guy in the world, I went nuts at G2000. I originally entered the store because literally the whole store is on sale - mostly at 50% off pa. Plus, I saw these beautiful dresses on display and God knows I need to dress a lil older and more effeminate.

I was very happy to see a bit later on that they weren't just about dresses and formal clothes, though. In fact, G2000 has some great casual finds available and I ended up stocking up on different colored shorts to mix and match with my favorite closet basics instead of going for the dresses. Whoops!

I also threw in a pair of pants and a couple of shirts for my guy coz hello! SALE! (I really don't think I need more of a reason than that.)

I only had a very limited time to go around the mall and check out the Red Hot Sale, but I promise you: I will definitely be back to shop some more next week. Will share more finds with you then! :)

What's Your Dream? Showcase It Through Sweet Charms Manila

I watched "Tangled" for the first time yesterday and I instantly fell in love with it - so much so that I learned "I See the Light" on the uke and started looking for fandom pictures of Rapunzel and Eugene all over the Internet within an hour of watching it.

I may have watched it 4 years too late, but the movie made a big impact on me. I've always loved the Disney movies where the girls aren't necessarily the helpless ones and where the guys need as much 'saving' as the girls do (cue Aladdin and Hercules) and this came with just the right amount of cheese to make me cry, as well. (Yes, I cried.)

Another thing that stood out from the movie for me was the "I Have a Dream" song. I liked how they pinpointed the fact that you can't really judge a book by its cover and that everyone has a dream, no matter how creepy-looking or cold-hearted they might seem.

Marrying Tom Cruise aside, I have several other dreams… And while I do have a dream journal and a dream board at home, I have something even better to remind me of them now: a dream locket from Sweet Charms Manila.
